December- Month full of Enthusiasm and Events
The students and teachers of Grade 2 were really enthusiastic and busy in the month of December having themselves engaged inquiring and researching about the theme 'Where We Are In Place and Time' focussing on 'Geography'. Find the glimpses of the engagements below.
Overall, it was good learning for all of us. Students enjoyed and participated well during both the events held last month.
Students were trying to find the meanings of words from the 'Central Idea'
Students watched a video related to the different geographical features around the world
Teacher read a book called 'How Are Mountains Made' aloud and asked questions
Students created varied landforms in the sand area
Events in this month included 'Musical' and 'Sports Day'
Students had an opportunity to find out answers of the different questions posted by the teacher and ask questions relevant to the unit of inquiry
Students found out information about their favourite place and became news reporters using the Doink app and green screen
Students explored and identified the similarities and differences between a map and globe
Students read varied books and provided information about landforms and water bodies to other class members
Students particpated in the 'Hour of Code' with Ms. Michelle and Ms. Mita
Students watched a video related to weather and climate
Students conducted research work using books as their resource and presented before the other members of the class
Students had a video call with a guest speaker from Toronto, Canada to discuss about the different aspects related to the unit of inquiry
Overall, it was good learning for all of us. Students enjoyed and participated well during both the events held last month.


















































Great to see all the research and presentations that the children are doing! Nice that they interact with experts from around the world on different topics...
ReplyDeleteAlso wonderful to see them learning about geography and then doing practical exercise - like the one in the sand pit - to apply their learning to something tangible!
